Cancun

Cancun was amazing. It was the best fun I have had in any given January of my life.
Ronan had a great time.
I am so glad we took him with us.
I love having Ronan. It makes everything so much better.

It was an all inclusive trip. That is the only way to go! We could eat at the mini bar, order room service, and eat at 5 resturants any time for free. It was the life.

This was the back door of our hotel room. Just a hop skip from the Caribbean.
Ronan
liked to get up at 6:00 am so we went on a lot of walks along this ocean side path.

Ronan also got his first taste of sand. Literally. We found a lot of it in his diaper.

He needed a hat.
Toddler hats were too small.
We had to settle for a large child size hat.
He had a great time with his bucket and shovels.
The sand was so white and fine, it looked and felt like baking flour.

Ronan was not a big fan of the ocean.
Each time a wave touched his toes he cried, "Noooooo!" and climbed higher in our arms.
It was quite funny.
By the end of our trip he was enjoying the water.

Ronan and I spent a lot of time sitting on the back poorch of our hotel room, watching the pelicans dive for fish.

The pelicans were very friendly. This one sat by us on the beach for quite a while.

We visited the ruins of Chitchen Itza and Ek Bolam.
Ronan
enjoyed running around.

It was amazing.
I was in history heaven.
Gosh, I love history.
I wanted to be a female Indianan Jones when I grew up.
I guess I do some excavations, in diapers.

Ronan got a little grumpy.

I really wanted to buy one of these red devil guys.
But we didn't have time to haggle.
We were off to swim in a sing hole and have lunch.

The sink hole was so beautiful.
But scary.
I did not swim in it.
But John jumped right in.
It was a couple of hundred feet deep, fresh water, and swimming with who knows what kind of creatures.

Then it was off to Ek Bolam.
This ruin site was way better than Chitchen Itza.
We could actually climb the ruins and explore.

The next day we spent the day on the beach again.

We found a crab.

After a few hours on the beach we brought Ronan back to the room.
He rinsed off, but zonked out during the towel dry.
He was so tired.

We let him sleep out the entire nap time on the bed just wrapped in his towel.

Oh, and I celebrated my 27th birthday while we were in Cancun. Hooray.

2 people had this to say...:

It looks so fun. What was the name of the resort you went to?
